1ST LUSTRUM CELEBRATION OF TRUSTBANK AMANAH BRANCH NICKERIE

Trustbank nv, now Trustbank Amanah, opened its branch in Nickerie on the 7th of March 2014. Opening a branch in Nickerie was not a difficult decision because of the potential for growth and development in this district. A year later, the bank decided to change its business model by introducing Islamic Banking. At the end of 2017, after thorough preparation, the launch of the 1st full-fledged Islamic Bank in Suriname and the region was a fact; a name change has also taken place from Trustbank nv to Trustbank Amanah.

Over the past 5 years, Trustbank Amanah Nickerie has advocated for civil servants, wage earners and sectors that traditionally had little or no access to finance. In the coming period, Trustbank Amanah will focus on the production sector, with extra attention to agriculture, lifestock, fishing and industry. Trustbank Amanah builds on the same foundation laid by the financial institution for the development of small entrepreneurship. Furthermore, we continue the development, support and stimulation of Micro entrepreneurs and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) according to the principles of Islamic Banking”, says Trustbank Amanah CEO Maureen Badjoeri.

In addition to financing, savings and investment options, the product range was expanded last year with the current account and debit card.

Trustbank Amanah also wants to offer its customers and future customers convenience and efficiency by implementing digital banking. The aim is to make internet and mobile banking possible at the end of the first quarter of 2019. It is expected that with the new products and services its customer base will grow steadily and the services will be improved.
